Biography

I was first elected to Seanad Eireann (Agricultural Panel) In July, 2002. I am currently the Party's Seanad Spokesperson on Enterprise, Trade & Employment having previously held the portfolio of Seanad Spokesperson on Finance. I am presently the liaison officer between the Parliamentary Party and Young Fine Gael.

I am currently the youngest member of the Senad. I was elected to Kilkenny County Council in 1999 for the Piltown Electoral Area, the youngest Councillor ever elected to this Council.

Both myself and my family are involved in numerous voluntary organisations and have a particular interest in community issues.

I recieved my primary school education at my local national school in Kilkenny (where i was until recently a member of the board of management), from there I went to Good Counsel College in New Ross, Co. Wexford for my secondary education.

In 1997 I entered WIT from where I graduated in May 2002 with a BBS (Economics & Finance). Currently I am taking a part-time course in Legal Studies at the Kings Inn.

Improved facilities for St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny

Radiotherapy for the South-East Region

Increased Funding for Special Needs Education

A viable future for farm families

Defence of the Kilkenny County Boundary

Improved Road Safety Measures

Greater Support for Carers and Increased Home-Help Funding

Foster roll-out of broadband coverage to all areas

Major national initiative to upskill workforce, with particular reference to those leaving the construction industry
